Things To Do On Kiawah

Golf

As a two-time host of the PGA Championship, Kiawah has gained a global reputation for exceptional golf. The Island has five public courses:

1. The Ocean Course

2. Osprey Point

3. Oak Point

4. Turtle Point

5. Cougar Point

Note, reservations and golf packages are available through Kiawah Island Golf Resort. Tee times book up early, so we recommend you plan in advance!

Dining, Shopping & Spa

Freshfields Village, located just outside the gates of Kiawah, is a fun outdoor and walkable shopping center that has over 30 shops and restaurants to choose from. There is also a Harris Teeter for any grocery needs.

The Sanctuary Hotel on Kiawah Island has a few shops to check out as well.

The Sanctuary also offers full spa services. Spa times book up quickly so we recommend booking in advance if interested.

Beach & Pool

Kiawah’s 10-mile stretch of beach ranks among the best in the world. The beaches’ packable sands are perfect for bike riding or a long walk.

If you stay at one of the Kiawah Island Resort Villas or Homes, you will have access to the Night Heron Pools.

The Sanctuary Hotel & The Andell Inn also have pools available to their guests.

Biking

Kiawah Island is very bike-friendly. Biking around is one of our favorite activities and a terrific way to see the island. Se below for some great bike rental options:

1. Alligator Bike

2. Seaside Cycle

3. Seacoast Sports & Outfitters

Note, if you are staying at the Sanctuary Hotel, bikes will be made available. Kiawah Island Golf Resort Villa & Home Renters should also inquire with the resort for discounts.

Fishing & Water Sports

Kiawah Island Golf Resort offers rentals for kayaks and paddle boards if you're looking to hit the water.

There are also plenty of public docks throughout the island to fish or crab off of. The convenience store as you enter the island sells bait and gear you may need.

Charleston

Only 26 miles from Kiawah Island (~45 minute drive), Charleston is one of the oldest and most charming cities in the country. The city is full of history, beautiful architecture, unique boutiques and fine dining. If you plan to spend a few extra days down south, we highly recommend exploring one of our favorite cities!
